Notification of transactions of Directors, Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility (PDMR) or Connected Persons

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc ("the Company") has been advised that EES Trustees International Limited, trustee of The Cable & Wireless Communications Share Ownership Trust (formerly the Cable and Wireless Employee Share Ownership Trust) ("the Trust") has undertaken the following transaction in the ordinary shares of the Company: 

On 3rd November 2011 236,200 Restricted Shares in the Company were released to Tim Pennington, a Director, for nil consideration, in accordance with the rules of the Company's Restricted Share Plan 2005.

In order to meet UK income tax liabilities, the Trust sold 119,200 ordinary shares from the Restricted Shares released to Tim Pennington at a price of 38.92 pence per share. Accordingly, Tim Pennington's holding in the Company has increased by 117,000 ordinary shares. 

This disclosure relates to a transaction notified in accordance with DTR 3.1.4R(1)(a).
