BRIT Insurance Holdings PLC13 April 2006 13 April 2006 BRIT INSURANCE HOLDINGS PLC Performance Share Plan Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit" or "the Company"), the UK-basedinternational general insurer and reinsurer, announces that Abacus CorporateTrustee Limited, the independent trustee (the "Trustee") of the Brit PerformanceShare Plan 2003 ("PSP") has notified Brit that it sold 2,075 Brit ordinaryshares of 25p each ("Shares") on behalf of a participant in the PSP on 11 April2006 and transferred 6,764 Shares to a participant of the PSP on 12 April 2006.The participant is not a director of Brit. Following this transaction, the Trustee holds a total of 8,800,267 Shares,representing approximately 0.90% of Brit's issued ordinary share capital. Theexecutive directors of Brit, together with other employees, are potentialbeneficiaries under the PSP and are therefore treated as having an interest insuch Shares. This notification is intended to satisfy the Company's obligations underparagraph 3.1.4(1)(b) of the Disclosure Rules.
