NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS
Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
The Company was notified on 7 October 2008 that on 6 October 2008 Mr N R Withington, a person discharging managerial responsibility, acquired 75 ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Shares") at a price of 1883 pence per Share as a result of the reinvestment of income by his ISA Manager.
Following this transaction, Mr Withington has a total beneficial and family interest in 69,026 Shares (including 27,694 Deferred Shares).
