British American Tobacco PLC28 September 2006 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 28 September 2006 that between 26 September 2006 and 28September 2006 it had released 19,644 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25pordinary shares (the "Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under theCompany's share option scheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 19,756,009 Shares.
