British American Tobacco PLC19 September 2005 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 19 September 2005 that it had between 15 September 2005and 16 September 2005 released 75,245 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25pordinary shares (the "Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under theCompany's share option scheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 23,665,582 Shares.
