The Company was notified on 7 October 2011 that on 6 October 2011 Mr N R Withington, a person discharging managerial responsibility, acquired 103 ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Shares") at a price of 2772 pence per Share as a result of the reinvestment of income by his ISA Manager.

Following this transaction, Mr Withington has a total beneficial and family interest in 154,401 Shares (including 36,367 Deferred Shares).
