Scottish & Southern Energy PLC03 February 2006 The Company was notified on 2 February 2006 by Computershare Investor Servicesplc, the provider of the all employee Share Incentive Plan ('SIP'), of thefollowing purchases on 1 February 2006 in the Company's ordinary shares:- (a) that 32,911 shares were purchased and allocated at £10.83 using participating employees' gross salary ('Partnership Shares'). (b) that the Company matched the Partnership Shares purchased by employees and purchased and allocated a further 22,422 shares at £10.83 ('Matching Shares'). The Company gives employees 1 Matching Share for each Partnership Share bought by them up to a maximum of 5 Matching Shares per employee, each month. The purchases, referred to above, were made pursuant to a regular standing orderinstruction with Computershare Investor Services plc for the monthly purchase ofPartnership and Matching Shares.
