British American Tobacco PLC11 November 2005 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 11 November 2005 that it had between 9 November 2005 and10 November 2005 released: a) 33,077 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to participants in the British American Tobacco Long Term IncentivePlan; and b) 14,684 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under the Company's share optionscheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 23,148,808 Shares.
