British American Tobacco PLC04 November 2005 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 4 November 2005 that it had on 3 November 2005 released10,804 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the "Shares") to aparticipant in the British American Tobacco Long Term Incentive Plan. Following this transaction, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 23,240,436 Shares.
