NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS
Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
1. The Company was notified on 6 October 2010 of the following change in the interests in ordinary shares of British American Tobacco p.l.c. in respect of the undermentioned executive director and person discharging managerial responsibility ("PDMR") arising from the purchase of ordinary shares at a price of 2379.37 pence per ordinary share on 29 September 2010 through the Company's Dividend Reinvestment Plan (the "DRIP"):

2. The Company was notified on 6 October 2010 by the trustee of the British American Tobacco Employee Share Ownership Plan that on 6 October 2010 the following executive directors and other persons discharging managerial responsibility (together the "Participants") had purchased ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Shares") by way of the Partnership Share Scheme at a price of 2377.00 pence per Share.
