Interests in the Ordinary Shares of Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company")
The Company has been notified that the Trustee of Cable and Wireless plc Employee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") has undertaken the following transactions in the Company's Ordinary Shares ("shares"):
* Purchase of 587 shares at a price of ‚£1.764 per share; * Disposal of 44,786 shares at a price of ‚£1.752 per share; * Disposal of 67,102 shares at a price of ‚£1.707 per share; * Disposal of 8,112 shares at a price of ‚£‚£1.755 per share; and * Disposal of 28,612 shares at a price of ‚£1.675 per share.
Following the disposals 36,636,945 Ordinary Shares are held under the Trust.
George Battersby, Harris Jones, John Pluthero and Tony Rice (all being directors of Cable and Wireless plc), in their capacity as members of the class of beneficiaries under the Trust, and Lloyds TSB Offshore Trust Company Limited, in their capacity as Trustee of the Trust, are deemed to have a non-beneficial interest in these Ordinary Shares.
No Directors are disposing of any beneficial interests in the Company.
