Shaftesbury PLC (the "Company") announces that following the completion of its 2 for 3 rights issue which closed for acceptances on 30 June 2009 (the "Rights Issue") and the issue of new shares, the Directors of the Company, in accordance with their intentions as set out in the prospectus dated 20 May 2009 relating to the Rights Issue, took up their rights as set out below and, as a result, have the following shareholdings in the Company:
