British American Tobacco PLC05 March 2007 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 5 March 2007 that it had on 2 March 2007 released: a) 2,556 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to a participant in the British American Tobacco Deferred Share BonusScheme; and b) 5,016 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under the Company's share optionscheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 18,686,378 Shares.
