Notification of transactions of Directors, Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility (PDMR) or Connected Persons

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc ("the Company") has today been advised that Computershare Trustees (Jersey) Limited, trustee of The Cable & Wireless Communications Share Ownership Trust (formerly the Cable and Wireless Employee Share Ownership Trust) ("the Trust") has undertaken the following transaction in the ordinary shares of the Company: 

On 2 June 2014, 378,180 ordinary shares in the Company comprised in an award under the Company's 2011 Deferred Bonus Plan ("the Plan") were released to Nick Cooper, a Director, for nil consideration, in accordance with the rules of the Plan. In order to meet UK income tax and national insurance liabilities, the Trust sold 181,685 of the ordinary shares released to Nick Cooper at a price of 51.44 pence per share.

Subsequent to the sale of these shares, the Company was notified that, on 5 June 2014, Nick Cooper transferred 196,495 shares to his wife, at nil value.

Following these transactions, Nick Cooper and his connected persons' total shareholding in the Company is 1,377,613 ordinary shares.

This disclosure relates to a transaction notified in accordance with DTR 3.1.4R(1)(a).
