NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS BY DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

The Company was notified on 15 September 2009 that on 15 September 2009 Mr J Rembiszewski, a person discharging managerial responsibilities, sold 20,000 British American Tobacco p.l.c. shares ("the Shares") at a price of 1953.47 pence per Share.
Following this transaction, Mr Rembiszewski has a total beneficial and family interest in 89,402 Shares (including 49,360 Deferred Shares).
