Cable & Wireless PLC06 July 2007 Interests in the Ordinary Shares of Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company") The Company has been notified that the Trustee of Cable and Wireless plcEmployee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") has undertaken the followingdisposal of ordinary shares ("shares") in the Company: • 18,994 shares on 3 July 2007 at a price of £1.938 per share; and • 63,298 shares on 3 July 2007 at a price of £1.936 per share. Following the disposals 34,894,449 Ordinary Shares are held under the Trust. George Battersby, Harris Jones, John Pluthero and Tony Rice (all being directorsof Cable and Wireless plc), in their capacity as members of the class ofbeneficiaries under the Trust, and Lloyds TSB Offshore Trust Company Limited, intheir capacity as Trustee of the Trust, are deemed to have a non-beneficialinterest in these Ordinary Shares.
