The Company announces that Sir John Parker, Chairman of Anglo American plc, has notified the Company that he purchased 1,726 ordinaryshares on 27 April 2010 at a price of £28.75 per share. His share interest has therefore increased accordingly.

The notification of this transactions is to satisfy the Company's obligations under the Financial Services Authority Disclosure and Transparency Rules 3.1.2 to 3.1.4.
