Director/PDMR Shareholding in Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company")
The Company was advised today that on 6 March 2007 the Trustees of the Cable and Wireless plc Employee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") released Restricted Shares in the Company to the under mentioned PDMRs at a price per Ordinary Share of ‚£1.62 in accordance with the rules of the Company's Restricted Share Plan.
In addition, on the same day the Trust, on behalf of the under mentioned PDMRs, sold Ordinary Shares from the Restricted Shares released at a price per Ordinary Share of ‚£1.610773 to meet UK income tax liabilities: -

In addition, the Company was notified that the Trust also disposed of a further 13,455 Ordinary Shares at a price of ‚£1.610773 per share.
As a consequence of the above awards 36,935,111 Ordinary Shares are currently held under the Trust. George Battersby, Harris Jones, John Pluthero and Tony Rice (all being directors of Cable and Wireless plc), in their capacity as members of the class of beneficiaries under the Trust, and Towers Perrin Share Plan Services (GSY) Limited, in their capacity as Trustees of the Trust, are deemed to have a non-beneficial interest in these Ordinary Shares.
No Directors are disposing of any beneficial interests in the Company.
