PDMR/DIRECTORS' INTERESTS

Anglo American plc announces the following conditional awards under the Company's Long Term Incentive Plan ("LTIP") to Mr Ruben Fernandes, a PDMR of the Company;

An award of 19,755 shares that will vest in 2015, subject to the satisfaction of performance conditions.

An award of 12,000 shares that will vest in two tranches, subject to continued employment, as follows; 4,000 shares on 1 June 2013, and 8,000 shares on 1 June 2014.

The notification of these transactions is to satisfy the Company's obligations under the UKLA Disclosure and Transparency Rules 3.1.2 to 3.1.4.
