Director/PDMR Shareholding
Melrose Resources plc (LSE: MRS) ("Melrose" or "the Company") announces that following the clarification issued on 9 January 2009 by the Financial Services Authority relating to disclosure obligations in respect of transactions by persons discharging managerial responsibilities ("PDMRs"), such as directors, and their connected persons, who grant security over their shareholdings, the Board of the Company has undertaken a review of all shareholdings to identify any that fall under this clarification.
On 22 January 2009 the Company has received confirmation from its controlling shareholder and Chairman Mr Robert Adair that, as previously notified by Mr Adair to the Company, he and/or his connected persons have over the past seven years used as security varying numbers of shares in the Company to which he and/or such persons are entitled. Mr Adair has confirmed that such security currently subsists over a total of 50,291,803 ordinary shares and that this includes shares held under trust arrangements with Lloyd's of London to provide security for insurance underwriting.
