Future PLC12 February 2007 12 February 2007 FUTURE PLC DIRECTORS' INTERESTS IN SHARES Future plc (the "Company"), the international special-interest media group,announces that it received notification on 12 February 2007 from AbacusCorporate Trustee Limited, the Trustee of the Company's Employee Benefit Trustof a change in its holding of the Company's ordinary shares of 1p each: On 12 February 2007, in accordance with the previously announced RestrictedStock Awards, it had transferred to individuals (including in respect of theexecutive Directors as set out below) a total of 473,704 shares, representing0.15% of the issued share capital of the Company, being the balance of shareswhich had vested (one-third of total awards), less the number of shares sold tomeet the tax and NI liability on vesting; and In order to meet the tax and NI liability on vesting referred to above, on 9February 2007, the Employee Benefit Trust had sold a further 138,143 shares inthe Company (at a gross average price of 44p per share), representing 0.04% ofthe issued share capital of the Company (it had previously announced the sale of238,600 shares on 18 January 2007). Following these transactions, the Employee Benefit Trust owns 1,700,894 sharesrepresenting 0.52% of the issued share capital of the Company. Stevie Spring asChief Executive Officer and John Bowman as Group Finance Director, along withother employees, have a technical interest in those shares by virtue of thembeing members of a class of beneficiary. As a result of the vesting of one-third of her Restricted Stock Award, StevieSpring's beneficial interest in shares of the Company has increased by 138,378(comprising the vesting of 248,447 of her Restricted Stock Award shares less thesale of 110,069 of those shares by the Employee Benefit Trust in order to meetthe tax liability arising on the vesting of the Award). Stevie Spring hasundertaken not, without the consent of the board of the Company, to dispose ofany shares that vest under the Restricted Stock Award (other than any sold topay the tax and NI liability that arises on vesting) while she remains employedwith the Company. Stevie Spring's total beneficial interest in shares is 163,378shares, which represents 0.05% of the Company's issued share capital. As a result of the vesting of one-third of his Restricted Stock Award, JohnBowman's beneficial interest in shares of the Company has increased by 55,701(comprising the vesting of 100,000 of his Restricted Stock Award shares less thesale of 44,299 of those shares by the Employee Benefit Trust in order to meetthe tax liability arising on the vesting of the Award). John Bowman hasundertaken not, without the consent of the board of the Company, to dispose ofany shares that vest under the Restricted Stock Award (other than any sold topay the tax and NI liability that arises on vesting) while he remains employedwith the Company. John Bowman's total beneficial interest in shares is 689,601shares, which represents 0.21% of the Company's issued share capital.
