Cable & Wireless PLC31 July 2007 Director/PDMR Shareholding in Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company") The Company has been advised that the Trustees of the Cable and Wireless plcEmployee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") released Ordinary Shares in theCompany as follows: 1. On 9 July 2007 : • 8,435 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.9560 per share • 14,638 Ordinary shares at a price of £2.01 per share • 7,150 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.936 per share • 3,533 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.9710 per share • 1,409 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.994 per share • 211 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.974 per share 2. On 25 July 2007 the following shares were released by the Trust toGeorge Robertson, a Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility in accordancewith the rules of the Company's Restricted Share Plan: • 65,930 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.7630 per share • 46,682 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.7490 per share 3. Also on 25 July 2007 : • 8,955 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.7630 per share • 6,359 Ordinary shares at a price of £1.7490 per share As a consequence of the above release 34,589,264 Ordinary Shares are currentlyheld under the Trust. George Battersby, Harris Jones, John Pluthero and TonyRice (all being directors of Cable and Wireless plc), in their capacity asmembers of the class of beneficiaries under the Trust, and Lloyds TSB OffshoreTrust Company Limited, in their capacity as Trustees of the Trust, are deemed tohave a non-beneficial interest in these Ordinary Shares.
