Cable & Wireless PLC02 November 2007 Interests in the Ordinary Shares of Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company") The Company has been advised that the Trustee of the Cable and Wireless plcEmployee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") has released Ordinary Shares in theCompany as follows: 1 August 2007: 1,408 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.65 per share;3 August 2007: 47,388 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;28 August 2007: 13 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.7080 per share;31 August 2007: 4,277 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.7110 per share;6 September 2007: 20,451 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;14 September 2007: 39,583 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;17 September 2007: 470,000 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;20 September 2007: 99,488 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;24 September 2007: 160,715 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;27 September 2007: 224,500 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.08 per share;27 September 2007: 4,226 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.8540 per share;2 October 2007: 3,871 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.2915 per share;15 October 2007: 88 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.7080 per share; and31 October 2007: 1,137 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.9460 per share. In addition, the Trust acquired Ordinary Shares in the Company as follows: 20 July 2007: 2,124 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.82 per share; and4 October 2007: 7,150 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.9360 per share. Following the disposals 31,505,370 Ordinary Shares are held under the Trust. George Battersby, Harris Jones, Richard Lapthorne, John Pluthero and Tony Rice(all being Directors of Cable and Wireless plc), in their capacity as members ofthe class of beneficiaries under the Trust, and Lloyds TSB Offshore TrustCompany Limited, in their capacity as Trustee of the Trust, are deemed to have anon-beneficial interest in these Ordinary Shares.
