Northumbrian Water Group PLC09 January 2008 Northumbrian Water Group plc (the "issuer") Notification of transaction of PDMR and connected person The issuer announces that Northumbrian Water Share Scheme Trustees Limited (the"Trustee") of the NWG Long Term Incentive Plan (the "Plan") has today, 9 January2008, transferred ordinary 10 pence shares in the issuer to the persondischarging managerial responsibility named below at nil cost pursuant to therules of the Plan. The transfer of shares is pursuant to a conditional award ofshares made on 22 December 2004. Ceri Jones acquired 14,506 shares under the LTIP, representing 0.002% of theissuer's issued share capital. Of these, 6,020 shares (0.001%) were sold at£3.4425 per share to meet tax liabilities. A further 8,486 shares weretransferred to Mrs K Jones. Mr Jones' beneficial and family interests in theissuer now total 26,720 shares, representing 0.005% of the issuer's issued sharecapital. This notification is made in accordance with DTR 3.1.4R(1)(a).
