British American Tobacco PLC11 July 2005 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 11 July 2005 that it had on 8 July 2005 released 1,706British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the "Shares") to satisfythe exercise of options under the Company's share option scheme. Following this transaction, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 24,408,499 Shares.
