NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY (PDMR) OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company") advises that on 15th March 2010 the following Directors exercised options under the Incentive Plan 2001 as set out on page 155 of the Circular and Explanatory Statement made available to shareholders on 2nd February 2010. The Directors have retained the resulting shares, increasing their holdings as set out below:

In addition, on 15th March 2010 Nick Cooper, PDMR, exercised 28,929 approved and 405,015 unapproved share options at a price of £1.037 per share together with 775,308 unapproved share options at a price of £1.0125 per share. On the same date Nick Cooper disposed of the resulting 1,209,252 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of £1.440435 per share.
