British American Tobacco PLC26 March 2007 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 23 March 2007 that it had between 19 March 2007 and 22March 2007 released: a) 137,901 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to participants in the British American Tobacco Long Term IncentivePlan; b) 1,750 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to a participant in the British American Tobacco Deferred Share BonusScheme; and c) 224,418 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under the Company's share optionscheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 16,450,106 Shares.
