UK Coal PLC03 July 2006 UK COAL PLC Notification of Transactions of Directors/Persons Discharging Managerial responsibilities and Connected Persons Long Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) To comply with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4, UK Coal Plc (the Company) advises that on3 July 2006, a conditional award was made under the LTIP rules to Jon Lloyd,Property Director, of 65,060 ordinary shares. The number of shares stated is themaximum available to Mr Lloyd on satisfaction of the performance target in full,subject to the addition of further shares representing the notionalre-investment of dividends. The earliest date on which Mr Lloyd would be able to become beneficiallyentitled to the shares comprised in the award is 3 July 2009, which is the thirdanniversary of the date on which the award was granted.
