British American Tobacco PLC08 February 2007 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 8 February 2007 that between 7 February 2007 and 8February 2007 it had released 9,362 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinaryshares (the "Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under the Company'sshare option scheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 18,910,455 Shares. The following executive directors, together with other employees, are potentialbeneficiaries under the trust, and are therefore deemed to be technicallyinterested for Companies Act purposes but were not connected with thetransaction that took place between the above mentioned dates: Mr P N Adams, MrP A Rayner and Mr A Monteiro de Castro.
