The Company has been notified that on 24 October 2012 Roger McDowell, Non-Executive Chairman, acquired 265,000 ordinary shares of 0.5p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 22.67 pence per Ordinary Share.

Following this purchase Roger McDowell now has a beneficial interest in 765,000 Ordinary Shares in Alkane, representing 0.76% of the issued ordinary share capital.
