SPORTS DIRECT INTERNATIONAL plc
On 16 July 2008 share awards were granted under the Company's Performance Share Plan in respect of Sports Direct International plc Ordinary shares of 10p each as set out below.

The number of share awards was calculated using a share price of 60.75p, being the closing middle market quotation for a share on 15 July 2008.
No payment was required for the grant of the share awards. The number of shares that vest will be determined by the extent to which performance conditions are met over the 3 year performance period, and the number of shares that vest will be increased to reflect the dividends that would have accrued on vested shares had they been reinvested in shares in the period between grant and vesting.
This announcement is made in accordance with the requirement of DTR 3.1.4.
