Scottish & Southern Energy PLC01 December 2005 The Company was notified on 1 December 2005 by Computershare Investor Servicesplc, the provider of the all employee Share Incentive Plan ('SIP'), of thefollowing purchases on 30 November 2005 in the Company's ordinary shares:- (a) that 36,925 shares were purchased and allocated at £9.93using participating employees' gross salary ('Partnership Shares'). (b) that the Company matched the Partnership Shares purchased byemployees and purchased and allocated a further 23,848 shares at £9.93('Matching Shares'). The Company gives employees 1 Matching Share for eachPartnership Share bought by them up to a maximum of 5 Matching Shares peremployee, each month. The purchases, referred to above, were made pursuant to a regular standing orderinstruction with Computershare Investor Services plc for the monthly purchase ofPartnership and Matching Shares.
