3i Group PLC01 September 2006 3i Group plc Further to the announcement made on 12 July 2006 that 3i Group plc (the "Company") had decided to appoint Mr Robert Swannell as a non-executive Directorof the Company with effect from 1 September 2006, the Company announces that theappointment has today become effective. The Company has been notified that as at his appointment date of 1 September2006 Mr Swannell was interested (within the meaning of sections 324 to 328 ofthe Companies Act 1985) in 11,000 ordinary shares of 62 69/88p each in theCompany.
