British American Tobacco PLC19 January 2007 DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING The independent trustee of the British American Tobacco Group Employee Trustnotified the Company on 18 January 2007 that it had between 16 January 2007 and18 January 2007 released: a) 4,049 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to a participant in the British American Tobacco Deferred Share BonusScheme; and b) 22,994 British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares (the"Shares") to satisfy the exercise of options under the Company's share optionscheme. Following these transactions, the independent trustee of the British AmericanTobacco Group Employee Trust holds a total of 19,056,712 Shares.
