Director/PDMR Shareholding in Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company")

The Company has been advised that on 8th May 2007 Halifax Corporate Trustees Limited, trustee of the Cable & Wireless Share Purchase Plan, undertook the following purchase of Partnership shares and allocation of Matching shares on behalf of the under mentioned Directors and PDMRs: -

1 Matching shares will be held in Trust until the third anniversary of the date of grant. If any Partnership shares are removed from the Trust within three years, the corresponding Matching shares will usually be forfeit.
