NEWS RELEASE
1 December 2011
Cyril Sweett Group plc
("Cyril Sweett")
Directorate changes
Cyril Sweett, the international property and construction consultancy, today announces changes to the composition of its Board of Directors, reflecting the Group's new management and reporting structure and continuing focus on creating a globally diverse business.
The Group's management and reporting structure is to be split into three regional centres: Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East, Africa & India (MEAI), reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
To reflect the new operational structure, the Group is pleased to announce that Kim Berry has been appointed a Managing Director and Executive member of the Board, with responsibility for the Group's operations across the Asia Pacific region. Kim is based in Hong Kong and was previously responsible for the Group's operations in China.
Derek Pitcher, previously Managing Director with responsibility for Europe will also be responsible for the MEAI region. Derek has been an Executive member of the Board since 2007 and will be supported by Martin Hadnutt, Deputy Managing Director, Europe, and Graham Gill, Regional Managing Director, MEAI.
Commenting on the appointment of Kim Berry to the Board, Michael Henderson, Non-executive Chairman, said: "Kim's appointment demonstrates the Group's growing international focus as we continue to evolve into a globally diverse business. In addition to a proven track record in successfully managing an international, growing business, Kim brings over 30 years of experience from the Asian construction markets to the Board.
With around 30% of the Group's revenue currently coming from the Asia Pacific region, it is clear the region will continue to be a key driver for the Group and alongside the restructuring of the Group's management structure will ensure that Cyril Sweett is fully aligned to take advantage of opportunities across the world."
In recognition of the regionalised management structure, Eamonn Kerr, previously Managing Director, International Operations, has resigned from the Board with immediate effect and will leave the Group on 31 December 2011. Having joined Cyril Sweett in 2001, Eamonn took over responsibility for building the Group's international operations in 2007, joining the Board in March of 2010.
Michael Henderson, said: "Eamonn has played an influential and critical role in establishing our international presence in a very short space of time and on behalf of the Board, I thank Eamonn for his services to the Company, and wish him all the best in the future."
