9 February, 2011 Daily Mail and General Trust plc (`DMGT') Directorate Changes
At its meeting today, the Board appointed Dominique Trempont, aged 56, an independent non-executive Director. Mr Trempont, who is based in Menlo Park, California, has been an executive and board member in large multinational high tech companies and start ups.
He is currently on the boards of three US public companies, with strategic focus on disruptive technologies, emerging markets and Asia: Energy Recovery Inc that makes water desalination affordable; Real Networks , a leader in online video, music and mobile entertainment; and Finisar , leader in high speed fibre optic communication systems. He is also on the board of a private company: on24, that is the emerging leader in webcasting and virtual shows.
Until recently, Mr. Trempont was also on the board of 3Com (NASDAQ, COMS), a global networking solution company that was acquired by Hewlett Packard in 2010.
There are no further details in relation to this new director which require disclosure pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority.
The Board also appointed Stephen Daintith as Finance Director with effect from 28 March, 2011. He will succeed Peter Williams who will retire from the Board on 25 March 2011, as stated in this morning's interim management statement.
