Trinity Mirror PLC28 April 2006 28th April 2006 Trinity Mirror plc: Appointment of Chairman Trinity Mirror is pleased to announce that Sir Ian Gibson, CBE, will join theBoard as a Non-Executive Director and be appointed Chairman immediatelyfollowing the Annual General Meeting on 4th May 2006 when Sir Victor Blank willretire from the Board. Sir Ian, 59, currently holds Non-Executive Directorships at GKN plc, Greggs plcand is the Senior Non-Executive Director at Northern Rock plc. Sir Ian most recently was Chairman of BPB plc until its takeover by Saint-Gobainat the end of 2005. Previously he was President of Nissan Europe and Senior VicePresident of Nissan Group in 1999. Sir Ian retired from Nissan in 2001. He hasalso held Non-Executive Directorships at the Bank of England, Pro Drive Ltd.,and Chelys Ltd. He was Deputy Chairman of Asda Group plc.
