Land Securities Group Plc17 May 2005 17 May 2005 Land Securities Group PLC ("Land Securities" / "the Group") Board Appointment Land Securities Group PLC announces that it has appointed Richard Akers,Managing Director, Retail Portfolio to the Board. Richard (43) has been responsible for the management of Land Securities' Retailportfolio and 250-strong team since the restructure in 2004 and, in particular,has been focusing on improving customer service for some 2,000 retail occupiersacross the UK. The £5.3bn retail portfolio includes 21 shopping centres, 24retail parks and a £500m development programme. Previously, as the Head of Retail Portfolio Management, Richard was responsiblefor the performance of the shopping centre investment portfolio, which hasoutperformed IPD for the past four years. Together with Land Securities' new business team, Richard has been instrumentalin the latest retail transactions, including the creation of the Metro Fund andScottish Retail partnerships; the Slough property exchange; and the recentrecommended cash offer for Tops Estates Plc.
