He will join the company thismonth. John, aged 41 and an Irish citizen, joins from Honeywell Inc, the US aerospaceand technology products multinational. For the past three years, he has beenresident in Shanghai as President of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutionswith 5,000 employees in R&D, manufacturing, and sales and marketing operationscovering the whole of Asia Pacific. From 1991 to 2002 he was based in Brusselsin a series of senior corporate development, strategic planning and generalmanagement roles in the automation and industrial divisions of the company. His earlier career was with Daimler Benz in Stuttgart. He has an engineeringdegree from University College Dublin, a master's degree specialising in controlengineering from Purdue in Indiana and an MBA from INSEAD.
