Following the announcement made on 26 May 2022, Ashraf Piranie, Group Finance and Operations Director at West Bromwich Building Society (the West Brom), will be leaving the business on 22 December 2022.

Subject to regulatory approval, Alex Pawley, the Society's current Divisional Director of Treasury and Finance, will be appointed to Chief Financial Officer with effect from 1 January 2023.

Joining Alex Pawley as an Executive Director at the Society, Martin Boyle, the current Chief Transformation Officer at Metro Bank, has been appointed to Chief Operating Officer and will join the Society in the second quarter of 2023.

Speaking on the appointments, John Maltby, The Society's Chair, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Alex Pawley and Martin Boyle to the Board They join us at an exciting time and bring extensive knowledge and experience, which will further strengthen our leadership team as we move into the next phase of the West Brom.

"I'd also like to thank Ashraf for his valued contribution to the West Brom over the last five years and wish him the best in the next chapter of his career."
