ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE APPOINTMENT OF
A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The board of Close Brothers Group plc announces the appointment of Raymond Greenshields as an independent non-executive director of the company with effect from 13 November, 2008. Upon his appointment Ray will join the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees.
Ray has broad executive experience in financial services spanning over 30 years, most recently as Managing Director of Barclays Wealth Management. Previously he was CEO of Zurich Financial Services UK and International Life, and Managing Director of AMP Financial Services. He is a non-executive director of Standard Life Assurance Limited and chairman of Bestinvest Group and Stockland UK Advisory Board.
There are no further details in relation to Raymond Greenshields which require disclosure pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority.
