Board Appointment
The Board of Punch Taverns Plc ("Punch") today announces that Angus Porter will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 31 March 2012.
The Board also announces that Mark Pain will step down from the Board with effect from 31 March 2012. As stated at the time of the demerger of the Spirit business in 2011, Mark's continued service on the Board was for a transitional period. Since joining the Punch Board in 2007, Mark has made a considerable contribution to the business and the Board would like to take this opportunity to wish him well for the future.
Angus Porter will be the Senior Independent Director and also chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
Angus Porter, aged 54, has been a Non-Executive Director of MyTravel Group, Alliance and Leicester, and Thomas Cook, and held senior Executive positions at Mars, British Telecom, Abbey National and WPP. He is currently the CEO of the Professional Cricketers' Association, and a Non-Executive Director of Direct Wines Limited and TDC.
No further information is required to be disclosed in respect of Angus Porter pursuant to
Listing Rule 9.6.13R (1) to (6).
