Lighthouse Group plc (AIM: LGT), one of the UK's largest Independent Financial Advice and Wealth Management groups, announces that Alistair Mackay, a director of Lighthouse subsidiary, Financial Services Advice and Support Limited ("FSAS"), is to retire at the end of December 2008.
As a consequence of Alistair's retirement, Andrew Snowball, Executive Director, will step aside from the Group Board to work alongside Alan Pinkerton, and together they will comprise the management team taking FSAS forward.
Alistair, Alan, and Andrew together founded FSAS six years ago and have been instrumental in growing the business into one of the largest IFA groups operating principally out of Scotland.
The Board of Lighthouse would like to thank Alistair for his significant contribution to the FSAS business, and to wish him a lengthy and enjoyable retirement.
David Hickey, Chairman of Lighthouse, said:
"Alistair has played a key role in building the excellent IFA offering which has made FSAS so successful. While we will be sorry to lose him, the orderly transfer of his responsibilities over the rest of 2008, and his offer to remain available from time to time in the future, will mean that the benefit of his skill and experience will not be lost to the Group.
"We are also pleased that Andrew will join with Alan in taking up the reins at FSAS. We believe that the FSAS offering is particularly attractive to the IFA market at this time in the economic cycle and are confident that Andrew and Alan will build a very substantial business."
