DIRECTORATE CHANGES

 

 

Lamprell (ticker: LAM), a leading provider of diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas and renewable energy industries, is pleased to announce that James Moffat has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer effective March 1st, 2013.

 

Prior to his appointment, Mr Moffat was the executive director responsible for the high profile Gorgon LNG Project in Australia. He is a highly experienced engineer and has been involved in international construction, fabrication and project management for more than 35 years. He has spent the last 16 years working for KBR Group in a variety of senior management roles. In his recent role on Gorgon, Mr Moffat was responsible for a project that employs around 18,000 people and is one of the largest engineering projects in the world.

 

Before moving to KBR, Mr Moffat was with the McDermott group, operating primarily in Asia Pacific and the UK and working in a number of managerial roles over a period of nearly 20 years. Notably, he was in charge of all aspects of fabrication, project management and engineering activities for McDermott Indonesia. Further biographical information for Mr Moffat is set out below.

 

Mr Moffat will join Lamprell on 1st March 2013, until which time Peter Whitbread will continue to act in the role of Interim CEO. Given Mr Whitbread's wealth of experience in the industry and long history with the Group, it is expected that, once Mr Moffat has joined the Group, Mr Whitbread will continue to sit on the Board of Lamprell.

In accordance with the UK Listing Rules, the Company confirms that there are no further details that are required to be disclosed under paragraph LR 9.6.13 R of the UK Listing Rules in respect of James Moffat.

James Moffat Biography

 

James Moffat has over 35 years of experience in the offshore engineering, construction and project management sectors. From 1996 to present, Mr Moffat has been employed with KBR group of companies, working in various roles including heading up the KJV on the Gorgon Project, Australia since August 2010 and, before that, acting as VP of worldwide Offshore Construction and, subsequently VP Project Management (Asia Pacific) from 2008 to 2010. As the General Manager of KJV (Gorgon), Mr Moffat manages a very large integrated project management team comprising contractor and client staff. The Gorgon LNG Project currently employs approximately people worldwide.

 

Mr Moffat worked for the McDermott group from 1977 to 1996 where he latterly managed the Batam facility in Indonesia. Before his time in Indonesia, Mr Moffat was working for the McDermott group in Scotland, concentrating on the structural and engineering requirements for construction and load-out of jackets, decks and modules.

 

Mr Moffat has a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Edinburgh University and is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
