Shaftesbury PLC27 February 2008 Shaftesbury PLC DIRECTORATE CHANGE SHAFTESBURY APPOINTS PATIENCE WHEATCROFT AS A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Shaftesbury PLC, the specialist West End property investment group, has todayannounced the appointment of Patience Wheatcroft as a Non-Executive Director. Patience Wheatcroft was until recently a senior financial journalist andnational newspaper editor. She is the former Editor of the Sunday Telegraph andwas Business and City Editor of The Times between 1997 and 2006. In 1988 shefounded Retail Week, the specialist trade magazine, and edited it until 1994.Prior to joining The Times, she had worked as a City and business correspondenton several national newspapers including The Daily Mail, The Sunday Times andThe Daily Telegraph. Patience Wheatcroft commented, "As someone who lives in London, loves London and is a long-time andenthusiastic student of retail, I am a great admirer of the way Shaftesbury isdeveloping and managing its villages to add to the vibrancy of the Capital." Jonathan Lane, Chief Executive added, "Patience will bring a different perspective to the Board.
