Askar Alshinbayev is a Director of Meridian Capital Limited. He is a formermember of the Board of Directors of JSC Kazkommertsbank, Kazakhstan's largestbank, Nelson Resources Limited, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchangeand the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, and PetroKazakhstan Inc., acompany listed on the New York, Toronto and London Stock Exchanges. From 1994 to2004, Mr. Alshinbayev was Managing Director of JSC Kazkommertsbank. Mr.Alshinbayev holds a degree in Operations Management (Computer Control Systems)from the Technical Science Institute in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
