Whitbread PLC08 February 2006 8th February 2006 WHITBREAD PLC Non Executive Director Change Whitbread today announces that David Turner will be retiring from the Board as anon-executive director on 2nd March 2006. David Turner, who is Chief ExecutiveOfficer of Brambles Industries, which is listed in the UK and Australia, wasappointed to the Whitbread Board in January 2001. He was also the Chairman ofits Audit Committee from September 2002 to November 2005. Anthony Habgood, Whitbread's Chairman said "We will miss David's contribution tothe Board but fully understand that following Brambles decision that its primarylisting will be in Sydney his visits to the UK will be less frequent and he canno longer devote the time he would wish to Whitbread. I would like to thank David for the very significant contribution that he hasmade to the Board discussions and for his chairmanship of the Audit Committee.His wise advice has helped to guide the Board through a major period of change".
