Karen Richardson to join Worldpay Group plc Board

London, 23 May 2016 - Karen Richardson, an accomplished and highly-regarded technology executive, is to join the Worldpay Group plc Board as an independent non-executive director and a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees. Her appointment takes effect from 1 July 2016.

During Karen's 30 year career in the technology industry she has held senior positions in a range of successful companies, including Netscape and NASDAQ-listed Epiphany, where she was Chief Executive Officer between 2003 and 2006. She is currently non-executive director of BT Group plc, where she also serves as a member of the Audit & Risk, Remuneration and Technology committees. Additionally she sits on the Boards of NASDAQ-listed Exponent, a global engineering and scientific consulting firm, as well as Ayasdi and HackerRank, both technology companies based in the US.

Karen Richardson biography

Karen Richardson has held a range of senior sales and marketing roles in technology companies, including Collabra Software Inc. between 1992 and 1994, Netscape Communications Corp between 1994 and 1998, and Epiphany Inc. between 1998 and 2006, where she was Chief Executive Officer from 2003. Her experience includes global multinationals and Silicon Valley startups and she is currently a non-executive director of BT Group plc, a constituent of the FTSE 100, and the above named technology companies based in the US.

In the past five years, Karen has also served on the following companies:

· 2007 - 2011 Silver Lake Partners, Operating Advisor

· 2008 - 2011 i2 Holdings Ltd, Non-Executive Director

· 2008 - 2012 VirtuOz Inc., Non-Executive Director 

· 2008 - 2011 Hi5 Networks Inc., Chairman 

Karen is married, is a US citizen and holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
