Mr Poynter (aged 57), educated in Melbourne, is married with two children andlives in Vermont South, Australia. He has extensive financial and commercialexperience having spent the last 25 years in various financial and operationalroles within the carpet manufacturing industry. Mr Poynter joined the Victoria Carpet Company Pty Limited in Australia asFinancial Director in March 1996. He was then appointed Managing Director of theAustralian subsidiary in October 2004 succeeding Michael Oakley, whosubsequently became Executive Chairman until his retirement today. Mr Oakley, after 27 years with Victoria's Australian business of which, 12 yearshe served as a PLC Director, has following the AGM today (7th August), steppeddown from the Main Board and relinquished his executive responsibilities; hedoes however become Non-Executive Chairman of the Group's Australian subsidiary.
